ABOUT US

The South Oakland Concert Band, founded in 1963 by Harry Begian, is an adult community band open to all area residents. The ensemble rehearses and performs a wide range of repertoire. The band is under the direction of Jim Conaton and features a season of four concerts as well as outdoor performances at area parks. The SOCB also features a jazz band, under the direction of James Gregory, the assistant conductor of the concert band. The jazz band performs in tandem with the concert band during the season, as well as several community concerts.

 The South Oakland Concert Band is always looking for new members.
